It seems like advertisers want us all to get into the Christmas spirit early this year. Almost every TV commercial I see has just skipped right over Thanksgiving and honed in on the Christmas shopping season. I love the Christmas season, so I’m not complaining. It gives me a jump start on thinking of how I want to decorate my home for Christmas. There are so many ways to decorate your home to make it festive for the holidays and I love discovering new ways to enhance my holiday décor. If, like me, you’re looking for ideas for your home, and you’re ready to get into the holiday spirit, pay a visit to the Festival of Trees in your community.
The 24th Palmetto Health Festival of Trees in Columbia will be held this weekend, Nov. 22-24, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. At the Festival of Trees, you’ll see many beautifully decorated trees, wreaths and other holiday décor. There will also be entertainment by choirs and dance groups and lots of activities for the children. Proceeds from the weekend-long silent auction of decorated trees, wreaths, tabletop trees, stockings, children’s art and other holiday items will benefit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.
While you’re at the Festival, stop by and see the two trees Casual Living’s Christmas on Forest decorated for Palmetto Health Board of Directors and Palmetto Health Richland Board of Trustees.
Every Friday I have posted an Outdoorlicious! Weekend blog devoted to outdoor events and grilling recipes. While I’ll still be posting blogs on outdoor living every Monday, today’s blog will be the last of the regular weekend blogs. Not to worry, Outdoorlicious! is not going anywhere. In fact, from time to time I will still post grilling recipes and information on Outdoorlicious! events along with my regular weekly post.
